HealthIndia Investigates First Suspected Mpox Case; Patient in Isolation

Date:

News Desk – India might have its first case of Mpox, a virus similar to monkeypox, found in a man who came back from a country with the disease. He is in the hospital now but is doing okay.

Health workers are checking if he really has Mpox and are talking to people he might have met to stop the disease from spreading. There’s no need to worry too much; the health department is ready to handle it.

Other countries, like Thailand and Pakistan, have also found cases of Mpox. In places where this disease is new, there have been over 40,000 cases reported, and some people have died.

The World Health Organization says Mpox spreads by close contact with sick people or things they’ve touched. Health groups around the world, including UNICEF, are trying to get vaccines to help stop the disease.
