News Desk – The Chief Minister of Odisha, Mohan Charan Majhi, started a new program called CM Kisan Yojana. This program gives money to farmers. It began during a big local festival called Nuakhai in Sambalpur. The government gave the first payment of Rs 925 crore to about 46 lakh farmers.
Each farmer gets Rs 2,000 directly into their bank account. There will be another payment on Akshaya Tritiya day. The Chief Minister also launched a website called Krushak Odisha Unified Portal to help farmers find out about government support.
This new program replaces an old one called Kalia Yojana. It gives Rs 4,000 every year to each farmer and Rs 12,500 to farmers who don’t own land. These payments are split into installments.
During the festival, the Chief Minister visited a temple to celebrate and wished for happiness and prosperity for all people in Odisha. He said he hopes the farmers will have good crops and make more money
