News Desk – Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief Minister of Delhi, has announced that he will resign and only come back after clearing his name from corruption charges. This means someone else from his party, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), might be chosen to temporarily take his place. Here are five possible leaders who could be the next Chief Minister of Delhi:
Atishi: She is in charge of education and other important areas in Delhi. She went to Oxford University and has played a big role in improving Delhi’s schools.
Saurabh Bharadwaj: He looks after health and other departments in Delhi. He has been with AAP for a long time and is also a party spokesperson. He has been an MLA and a minister before.
Raghav Chadha: A Rajya Sabha MP, he has been with AAP since the beginning. He has served as an MLA and played an important role in AAP’s victory in Punjab. He is known for speaking well on behalf of the party in Parliament.
Kailash Gahlot: He manages big departments like transport and finance in Delhi. He has been a Delhi MLA since 2015 and has a legal background, working as a lawyer before.
Sanjay Singh: A Rajya Sabha MP, he is one of the most well-known faces of AAP. He is a strong speaker in Parliament and is regularly seen in media representing the party.
One of these leaders might be chosen to lead Delhi for a few months until the next election is held.
