Concept of the DayWhat is Self-Dedication?

Date:

Self-dedication is the dedication of oneself to a purpose or cause or ideal situation. Self-dedication means self-sacrificing devotion and loyalty that is done by a person to their work or cause. For example, Radha’s son dedicated his entire life to the welfare of the temple and its related activities. Her son had to face a lot of hardships and dedication to complete the given work on time but he didn’t lose hope. He kept on working for the temple since the age of 10 and now he is in his 30s and always involved in the activities of the temple.

Radha’s son was so dedicated to his service to the temple that he decided to remain single throughout his life. He had a job in another city but he ensured to come over the weekends and keep working for the temple’s betterment. He cut down his other distractions and became fully devoted to organizing events and activities inside the temple that in fact also helped to better the lives of people living in his village.

One has to learn from people who are self-dedicated to a purpose or cause or their work or profession or family. For example, Mohan was a self-dedicated person for his entire family. Be any problem in his relatives’ lives, Mohan would turn up at their homes even at the odd hours of the night. He had his own family of two children and a wife but he would always extend a helping hand to his extended family members on all sides. Mohan was thus, a self-dedicated man who had promised himself to help others come what may.

Shilpa was a self-dedicated woman for the cause of disability. Shilpa got to know about disability when she met a person in her college. That motivated her to take up the project on disabled people at her graduation. She took a keen interest in making the lives of disabled people better and that’s why started a company that employed people with different disabilities. Shilpa was self-dedicated throughout her business journey and that got proved during the pandemic times. She sold off her shares just to ensure that no disabled people lost their jobs and made a decent living.

Self-dedication is like committing oneself to a cause or purpose. If a person has committed themselves to a person or cause, he or she will ensure to complete their work irrespective of any situation. For example, Rohan had committed himself to further studies. His father had to drop out of school at the age of 16 and his hardship story motivated Rohan to keep working on his academic goals. Rohan kept studying some other courses and showed his degrees and certificates to his father. This encouraged his father to trust the abilities of his son and also made him feel proud.

From the above examples, we learn that when people develop the habit of self-dedication, they can overcome any obstacles and reach their higher purpose or goals in life. Thus, one should keep focusing on their goals with full commitment and dedication and see the outcomes occurring naturally.
