News Desk – Infosys has directed its technology team to follow the company’s mandate of working from the office for at least 10 days a month. The Bengaluru-headquartered IT major is introducing system interventions from March 10, 2025, to limit the number of work-from-home days employees can apply for each month, ensuring compliance with the new hybrid work model, as per an internal email cited by the Economic Times.
Who is Affected?
The new rule applies to employees at Job Level 5 (JL5) and below, including:
- Team Leaders
- Software Engineers
- Senior Engineers
- System Engineers
- Consultants
However, it does not apply to JL6 and above, which includes managers, senior managers, delivery managers, and senior delivery managers, but excludes vice presidents.
How Will the System Intervention Work?
Infosys employees use a mobile app for attendance. Going forward, work-from-home requests will not be approved by default. Employees must ensure they punch in at least 10 days a month.
Consequences of Not Meeting the Mandate
If an employee falls short by a day or two, those days will be deducted from their leave balance.
Employees must limit the number of work-from-home days they apply for to comply with the new rule.
Earlier in 2024, TCS linked quarterly variable pay to office attendance. Employees with less than 60% attendance were not eligible for the quarterly bonus.
With these new measures, Infosys aims to bring more employees back to the office while maintaining some flexibility under its hybrid work policy.
