Delhi: An incident was reported in which a man suffering from marital issues killed himself from a ceiling fan in North Delhi’s Lohri gate area. The incident happened early on Tuesday said an official.
The deceased has been identified as Ashif Mumtaj aged 40, he belonged to Farshkhana in the Lohri gate area. According to the information received the police got the information about the incident on Monday about a man committing suicide in the area, following which the police reached the spot to investigate the matter.
According to the police officers when they reached the spot they found a man hanging from the ceiling fan with a help of a white cloth. No sooner did the police receive the call from the deceased brother than they reached the spot. On further investigation, the police found that Ashif was going through marital discord.
According to the information received Ashif married eight years ago, and he also had two children. The deceased runs a footwear shop in Wazirabad. Further, a family meeting was also held in which it was decided that both will live separately. An official said that a proper inspection of the crime scene will be done with a legal proceeding under section 174 of crpc.
