Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra has ruled out any possibility of threat to Bharat Jodo Yatra in the state. Mishra’s statement came on the heels of an anonymous letter threatening to assassinate Rahul Gandhi and Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president Kamal Nath cropped up on Thursday.

The anonymous letter threatened that a serial bomb blast would carry out in that city if the Yatra made a scheduled night halt at Khalsa stadium on November 28. The letter, bearing a photocopy of an election photo identity card of a youth from Karnal, is scripted in Hindi and contains several abusive words.

Mishra said that the state government ensured that Rahul Gandhi’s Yatra get full security when it enters Madhya Pradesh. A shop owner in Indore received the letter. According to reports, Mishra said on Saturday that the government would provide full-proof security to Rahul Gandhi.

Mishra further said accused Nath of rubbing salt to the wounds of victims of the 1984 anti-Sikh riots by going to the Khalsa stadium for a function a few days ago. Meanwhile, the Indore police registered a case against some unidentified accused at the Juni police station.
