Bengaluru: A 32-year-old woman has thrown her two children into a reservoir and committed suicide by jumping into it, the police said on Saturday. The incident occurred in Navilu Thirtha Reservoir on the outskirts of Benagavi under Savadatti police station in Karnataka. The incident shocked the residents of the area. Nevertheless, reasons for the woman taking such an extreme step could not be learnt.
The deceased have been identified as Tanuja Parasappa Godi, four-year-old Sudeep and three-year-old Radhika. The woman took both the children to the reservoir. The police said that the bodies were fished out of the water on Friday night and sent to the mortuary. An investigation into the incident is going on.
