New Delhi: The Union Health Ministry said that 13,835 people in the country are infected with the corona virus and the number of dead has reached 452. The ministry said that there are 11616 active corona virus cases in the country and 1,766 persons have recovered from this and have been discharged from the hospital. One person has gone out of the country. Out of the total infected people, 76 are foreign nationals. Since Thursday evening, there have been 32 deaths while 1076 new cases have been found.
The Union Health Ministry has informed that in India, cases of Covid-19 were doubling in the last three days before the lockdown, while based on the data of the last seven days, this figure has been reduced to 6.2 days. In the daily news conference, Lav Agarwal, Joint Secretary in the Union Health Ministry said that 13 percent of corona patients in the country have been cured.
The Ministry of Health has reported that the rate of infection of Covid-19 in 19 states in India is lower than the national average. This includes Kerala, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh, Ladakh, Puducherry, Delhi, Bihar, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Assam and Tripura. The Health Ministry said, five lakh ‘rapid antibody test kits’ are being distributed to the states. There are plans to deliver one million kits by May.
