New Delhi: The number of people infected with the corona virus in the country has crossed 67 thousand today. For the first time in India, more than four thousand cases of covid-19 were found in a single day. According to covid19india.org, 4,179 new cases of corona have been reported in the last 24 hours and 106 people have died. After which the total number of covid-19 infected has increased to 67,044 and the death toll has increased to 2207. At the same time, 1514 people are healthy or discharged in a day. After which there are currently 44,018 active cases. Apart from this, Maharashtra is the worst affected. In one day, 1943 new cases of corona have been confirmed in the state and 53 people have died.
Earlier in the day, Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan said that in 24 hours, no cases of corona have been reported in 10 states and union territories. Also, the Center has so far sent 72 lakh N-95 face masks and 36 lakh Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) kits to the states. At the same time, PM Modi will hold a meeting with Chief Ministers through video conferencing at 3 pm on Monday about the situation of Corona and lockdown in the country. This will be the fifth meeting of PM Modi.
Corona cases are also increasing in the capital Delhi. According to the latest figures, 73 people have died so far. While 381 new cases of corona have been reported in a single day after which the total number of infected people has increased to 6,923.
714 Maharashtra police personnel were found infected with covid-19 and 61 of them have recovered. Of these, 648 cases of corona are active, and 5 deaths have occurred. 25 new cases of corona have been reported in Mumbai’s Dharavi area and 1 victim has died. A total of 833 cases of Corona have been reported so far in the area. So far 27 people have died here.
In West Bengal, 14 more people have died due to corona virus infection. After which the death toll from covid-19 has increased to 185. With this, 153 new cases have been reported, after which the number of patients has increased to 1,939. In the last 24 hours in Gujarat, 398 new cases of corona were reported and 21 people died. Total cases in the state increased to 8,195 while 493 people have lost their lives so far.
