A heinous incident was reported in which a couple complained about baby swapping by the staff at Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences(RMLIMs).
The couple has made allegations that the staff in the institute has exchanged their baby boy with a girl. The couple has also alleged the staff taking a bribe of Rs 1200 for doing the task.
According to the information received RMLIMS authorities have denied the assertion. They have also ordered an inquiry into the bribery charges.
According to the complaint filed Kamal Kumar Rawat has claimed that his wife Resham Rawat had given birth to a baby boy on December 9th. The paper they got mentioned that they gave birth to a baby boy but later were informed that they gave birth to a girl.
“I want my baby back” claimed Rawat in the complaint letter. On the other hand, the hospital authorities are strongly denying baby swapping on their premises.
The hospital authorities further claimed that there is only one OT in the hospital and all the doctors and staff have confirmed that the woman gave birth to a baby girl. The authorities further said that in one such document a staff mistakenly wrote boy in place of the girl.
According to the information received A senior officer managed to convince the couple that they gave birth to a girl. He also ensured a fresh investigation would be done into the matter.
RMLIMS spokesperson Nimisha Sonkar further said “An inquiry has been ordered. A proper action would be taken if found guilty “
