Uttar PradeshMan held for posting inflammatory picture on social media

Date:

Bulandshahr (UP): The storm over remarks against the Prophet by two spokespersons of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Nupur Sharma and Naveen Kumar Jindal, is barely showing any signs of dying down. On the heels of international criticism, the BJP removed both Sharma and Jindal from the party, but the steps taken by it seem to have failed to control the anger. There were communal clashes in different places across the country over the issue.

Therefore, the government has decided to come down heavily on those who try to promote hatred by posting inflammatory material on social media. In a recent incident, a man posted a photograph of Sharma on social media. The photograph shows that Sharma’s head is being slashed with a sword for her remark on the Prophet. After the photograph went viral on social media, the police swung into and arrested the man from the Syana area in Bulandshahr for posting such a vicious photograph.

Syana circle officer Vandana Sharma said, “Nadeem, 20, has been arrested and booked under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).” She said that anyone trying to promote communal hatred would face the music. In the aftermath of communal clashes in Kanpur, Prayagraj and in several areas of western Uttar Pradesh, a large number of people have been arrested and the houses of many rioters pulled down. The UP government has decided to take stern action against those who will post any kind of inflammatory material that gives off hatred and communal disharmony.
