Lucknow: The word Acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) generates a kind of a social stigma. And an individual having this syndrome diagnosed knows it better than anyone else. A single person afflicted with this condition has to live without a life partner. Nothing can be more stigmatic than this.
Keeping that in mind, the Anti-Retroviral Therapy (ART) centre of King George’s Medical University (KGMU) in Lucknow finds matches for such patients and helps them become parents.
With the help of the KGMU ART centre, a couple from Sitapur has become parents of a healthy baby.
According to sources in the ART centre, more than 30 couples have become parents.
