Varanasi (UP): Vishwa Vaidik Sanatan Sangh (VVSS) chief Jintendra Singh Visen has said the power of attorney of all cases connected with the Gyanvapi mosque will be handed over to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Visen’s statement has added new tinge to the dispute over worship at Shringar Gauri on the premises of Gyanvapi mosque in Varanasi.
According to Visen, the VVSS has sent the proposal to the chief minister. Nevertheless, Visen kept away from saying whether the chief minister was ready to accept the proposal or not or whether there was any communication between his organisation and Yogi Adityanath. He also kept mum over the objective of giving the power of attorney to the chief minister.
He said the proposal had been sent to the Chief Minister and the lawyers of the organisation began to prepare legal documents which would be done November 15. Reacting to the statement of VVSS chief, district government counsel Alok Chandra Shukla termed such a proposal as a publicity stunt. He said, “There is no question of handing over the power of attorney to the chief minister in connection with this issue.”
