Pilibhit (UP): The police booked the “anonymous” parents of a baby found in bushes in Ruria-Dhuria village under the Bilsanda police circle in Pilibhit district of Uttar Pradesh ten days ago, official sources said on Monday. When the Child Welfare Committee came to know of the incident, they asked the police to register an FIR against the parents.
According to station house officer Achal Singh, sub-inspector Devanand Shukla filed a complaint in connection with the incident.
The police rescued the baby girl and handed her over to the child helpline from where she was admitted to the special new-born care unit (SNCU) at the district women’s hospital on November 18.
District coordinator of the child helpline Nirvan Singh said she had been sent to the Bareilly district hospital where she was kept from November 19 to November 26.
According to chairperson of CWC Purnima Pandey, she has been sent to the official custody of a specialised adoption agency in Budaun.
