Ram Mandir is a Hindu temple that is still being built in Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh in India. For the unaware, Ayodhya is the location of Ram Janmabhoomi, which means it is the birthplace of Lord Rama who is an incarnation of Lord Vishnu.
Lord Rama is highly worshipped in all parts of India for his high-ideal values of living as a graceful human being and benevolent king who protected his masses and got appreciated for his leadership skills. Lord Rama’s life was full of struggles. When he attained youth age, his stepmother Kaikeyi asked him to go to vanvas and give away the kingdom to his brother Bharat. His wife Sita and brother Laxman spent their lives in vanvas for 13 years as, during the 14th year, Sita was abducted by Ravana, the king of Lanka. It took Rama many months to find his wife with the help of Lord Hanuman and free Sita from Ravana and also kill him as his punishment for his evil deeds.
When he came back to Ayodhya with his wife and brother after his victory, his wife had to leave him as his people weren’t willing to accept Sita as the queen of the kingdom. Lord Rama lived separated from his wife and soon-to-be-born kids for many years. The Ramayana doesn’t end here as there were many struggles that Lord Rama had to face in his life as a human being but he overcame all his challenges gracefully without losing courage, hope, and patience and that’s why he is worshipped by people all over the country and even the world.
In the case of Ram Mandir, this place was under dispute as, during the 16th century, the Mughals built a mosque called Babri Masjid on the site of Ram Janmabhoomi. A violent fight took place in the 1850s and over the years, the legal dispute on the land was continued till 2019 when the Supreme Court decided to hand it over a trust formed by the Indian government called Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra for the construction of a Ram temple.

In August 2020, Ram Mandir’s Bhoomi puja ceremony was performed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The construction of the 235 feet wide, 360 feet long, and 161 feet high temple is likely to be completed in two years timeframe and it will be then considered to be the world’s third-largest Hindu temple. All the reasons make it compelling for one to visit the temple once it is built and open for devotees from all parts of the world. Jai Shri Ram!
