Massive fire breaks out at Pune’s chemical plant, 18 dead

New Delhi: A major fire broke out at a chemical plant in Maharashtra’s Pune city. Officials have confirmed that 15 employees of the company have died in this incident while two people are missing. A massive fire broke out in the sanitizer manufacturing unit of a company in Ghotawade Phata, Pune. The local fire department said 37 workers were working inside the unit at the time of the fire. 20 workers have been rescued. So far 15 bodies have been recovered.

A number of local fire brigade personnel have reached the spot to control the fire and rescue the trapped inside. According to the information, at least six fire tenders have been sent to SVS Aqua Technologies’ plant in Pune.

The fire department has said that the bodies of 15 people have been found at the spot. Two people are missing. According to the fire department, 20 of the 37 employees on duty have been rescued. The fire department has said that the fire has been brought under control. Eight fire tenders are present at the spot. Search continues for missing people.
