Hockey lovers will be treated to the gleaming trophy of the FIH Hockey World Cup on Sunday, December 25. The trophy of the Men’s World Cup to be held in Odisha from January 13 to 29 will be displayed in Bhubaneswar on Saturday i.e. on the occasion of Christmas.
The trophy will reach Bhubaneswar on Christmas day and will be paraded across the city for sports lovers to see. The trophy will be kept in the new stadium of SOA Deemed University where students and other sports lovers will be able to see the trophy. Let the trophy be given to the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. (Dr.) Ashok Kumar Mahapatra will take it. Not only this but a cultural program will also be organized on this occasion.
The special thing is that this is the second time in a row that Odisha has been handed over the hosting of the Hockey World Cup. This time it is the 15th edition of the World Cup, in which all the matches will be played at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar and the newly opened Birsa Munda International Rourkela.
