New Delhi: The Election Commission has taken action against DMK leader A Raja in a derogatory remark against Tamil Nadu CM EPS Palaniswami. The ECI has banned former Union Minister A Raja from campaigning for 48 hours. Voting is to be held on 6 April for the assembly elections in Tamil Nadu. Significantly, Raja made derogatory remarks against Tamil Nadu CM and AIADMK leader Palaniswami during an election rally. His comment was such that it cannot even be published.
In this case, he had to face criticism from all parties. The complaint was filed with the Election Commission on behalf of the ruling party AIADMK.
Raja was summoned by the Election Commission in the case. Though Raja later apologized for his remarks, but even then, he could not escape the criticism of the people.
