News Desk – A week after the deadly blast near Delhi’s Red Fort that killed 13 people, a disturbing video of the bomber, Dr Umar Mohammad alias Umar-un-Nabi, has surfaced. The self-recorded and undated video offers the first clear look into his radical mindset.

In the video, Umar is seen calmly explaining his views on suicide bombing. He refers to it as a “martyrdom operation”, claiming it is allowed in Islam.

“One of the very misunderstood concepts is suicide bombing… It is a martyrdom operation,” he says, adding that people cannot predict when they will die and should not fear death.

Although suicide is strictly forbidden in Islam, Umar tries to justify suicide attacks as an act of martyrdom. His fluent English, confidence, and composed behaviour in the video show that he had deeply thought about such extremist ideas—signs of complete radicalisation.

The video also suggests that the Red Fort car blast was well-planned, dismissing earlier theories that the explosion may have happened accidentally while transporting explosives.

The emergence of this video highlights a worrying trend: terror groups are now recruiting highly educated individuals, including doctors. Umar, along with other arrested doctors, was part of a larger module linked to Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind.

Earlier, the Jammu and Kashmir Police revealed that they had busted an inter-state, transnational terror network involving radicalised students and professionals.

Investigators described it as a “white-collar terror ecosystem”, showing a new and dangerous face of terrorism in India educated, strategic, and deeply indoctrinated.
