Srinagar: In Jammu and Kashmir, a case of kidnapping and forced conversion of two Sikh girls has come to light. Since this incident, the Sikh society has been infuriated. In Srinagar, the people of the Sikh community protested against this conversion and continuously demanded the intervention of the government in the matter. The people of the Sikh community are demanding the release of the girls. One incident is from Budgam district and the other in Mahjoor Nagar.
In Srinagar, Shiromani Akali Dal leader and Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee President Manjinder Singh Sirsa said, “2 Sikh girls were abducted at gunpoint and forcibly converted and married to elderly men of a different religion . I appeal to the Center to take action on this issue.
Sirsa was leading a protest on Sunday against the alleged forced conversion and marriage of Sikh girls. Sirsa said that the girl who has been married to a Muslim has already 2-3 marriages. When the minor girl was taken to the court for marriage, people of the Sikh community have reached outside the court and started protesting. The protesting people demanded that the girl be handed over to them. According to Santpal Singh, president of the Gurdwara Management Committee, Budgam, an 18-year-old Sikh girl was lured into the trap and then converted to Islam.
It is worth noting that in recent days, the Uttar Pradesh ATS had busted a racket in which more than a thousand people have been told to convert. The head of this syndicate was Mohammad Umar Gautam. According to the ATS, this racket has converted hundreds of people and it was funded from abroad.
