They were upset about their performance in the class 12 examinations
New Delhi: After the CBSE announced the Class 12 examination results, two students committed suicide by hanging themselves at their homes in Delhi on Saturday.
According to the police, both the students were disappointed with the results of the board examinations.
A 16-year-old girl hanged herself from the ceiling of her house in Hari Nagar area of New Delhi for her low score in the examination.
When her family members saw her hanging, they brought her down and took her to DDU hospital where she was declared brought dead.
The girl, who was a student of science stream, scored 75%, but she was not happy with her results. No suicide note was found, the policed said.
Another incident of suicide was reported from Sultanpuri in northwest Delhi where a 19-year-old girl ended her life after she could not pass the examination.
The girl was rushed to SGM Hospital in Mangolpuri where she breathed her last.
According to her family members, she was upset about her class 12 results. CBSE declared the results of class 10 and class 12 results on Friday.
The pass percentage for class 10 stood at 93.12%. For the students of class 12, the pass percentage was 87.33%.
