NewsArvind Kejriwal demands a vote of confidence in the Delhi legislature

Date:

In the Delhi excise policy case, ED sent Kejriwal with its sixth summons on February 14, requesting that he appear after the agency on February 19. Arvind Kejriwal, the chief minister of Delhi, introduced a resolution of confidence in the assembly on Friday, stating that it was necessary to demonstrate to the populace that the house has faith in the council of ministers. The application was submitted in response to a case brought by the Enforcement Directorate over the Delhi Chief Minister’s persistent disregard for the agency’s summons and was made the day before Kejriwal was scheduled to appear before the Rose Avenue court.

Kejriwal received a sixth summons from the ED on February 14; it was supposed to be delivered to him on February 19. After Kejriwal failed to show up on February 2, the agency adjourned the court. On February 17, the Rouse Avenue court called for Kejriwal’s personal appearance and noted that the AAP national convener was legally required to cooperate with the ED inquiry. The proposal will be discussed in the House on Saturday, according to Speaker Ram Niwas Goel. On the other hand, opposition leader Ramvir Singh Bidhuri claimed that the Saturday business was not included in the previously released timetable.

Since Kejriwal was summoned by the Rouse Avenue court on February 17 for allegedly ignoring an ED summons related to a liquor scam, a discussion of the confidence motion has been scheduled for this Saturday. The previous schedule did not call for the House to meet on February 17. In order to avoid appearing in court, the CM has a discussion on a motion of confidence arranged for this Saturday, according to Bidhuri. Kejriwal reiterated his accusation that the Bharatiya Janata Party was attempting to steal Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLAs in order to overthrow his administration on Friday while introducing the trust vote in the house.

A few days earlier, I was informed the same thing by two MLAs (AAP) who approached me independently. They stated that BJP leaders had informed them that Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will be arrested shortly, that they had already spoken with 21 AAP MLAs, that they were prepared to quit the party, and that they were attempting to get in touch with more AAP MLAs. They asked them to join the BJP and promised to provide each of them with Rs 25 crore. They pledged that they would run for office (assembly) on the BJP ticket. Let us know if there is anything else you would like. The MLA informed me that they turned down the proposal.

The MLAs informed me that they turned down the proposal. When we followed up with our MLAs, we discovered that the BJP had spoken with seven of them. They have made an effort to carry out Operation Lotus once more. However, from what we’ve heard, all 21 MLAs have declined, Kejriwal stated as he made the motion of confidence.
