News Desk – In a major security alert near the national capital, police have recovered 350 kg of ammonium nitrate and two assault rifles from Faridabad, Haryana. The operation was carried out jointly by Jammu & Kashmir Police and Haryana Police.
The recovery happened after the arrest of Dr. Adil Ahmad Rather, a Kashmiri doctor, who was earlier caught for putting up posters supporting terror group Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) in Srinagar.
How the Case Unfolded
October 27: Posters supporting JeM appeared at several places in Srinagar.
CCTV footage showed Dr. Adil Rather putting up the posters.
He was tracked and arrested from Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh.
Police searched his locker at Government Medical College, Anantnag, and found an assault rifle.
Based on his interrogation, police reached Faridabad.
The explosives were kept with another doctor, Dr. Mujammil Shakeel, from Pulwama, working at Al-Falah Hospital in Faridabad.
Police recovered:
350 kg ammonium nitrate (a chemical used to make explosives)
Two rifles (not AK-47, as confirmed by police)
Timers, used for triggering explosions
Faridabad Police Commissioner Satender Kumar Gupta said the recovery was “significant and alarming,” especially due to the sensitive location near Delhi.
Police are investigating:
Why such a huge quantity of explosives was being stored near Delhi.
How it was transported without detection.
Whether there were larger terror plans targeting the national capital.
Officials believe this case shows terror groups are recruiting educated professionals, including doctors, into their network.
Dr. Adil Rather has been booked under:
Arms Act
Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA)
Further arrests and recoveries are expected as the investigation continues.
