News Desk – Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is set to present the Union Budget 2024 for the fiscal year 2024-25 in July. As 2024 is an election year that is why Sitharaman present an Interim Budget on February 1. Now, Sitharaman is all set to unveil the full budget.
This year’s budget presentation will be special for Sitharaman, as she will be the first finance minister to present seven consecutive Union Budgets. Sitharaman surpass this record previously held by Morarji Desai.
Also, there were the proceedings of the 18th Lok Sabha’s maiden session, began on June 24 and run until July 1. This session includes oath-taking of new members, the election of the Speaker, and a joint session of both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said that the first session of the 18th Lok Sabha, along with the 264th session of the Rajya Sabha, is scheduled to conclude on July 3, 2024. This timing provides a strategic plan for the budget presentation for the upcoming year.
