In the recent 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), secured 240 seats. Although this count is below, the BJP, along with its allies in the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), collectively surpassed to maintain a majority in the Lok Sabha.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) aims for 370 seats of their own and over 400 with their allies. However, they still managed to lead over the Congress party, obtained 99 seats.
The BJP showed strong performance in these five states ( ( Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Delhi, Uttarakhand, and Tripura). Also, give strong performances in other states like Chhattisgarh and Odisha, securing a majority of the seats.
Moreover, Union Minister Anurag Thakur won the Hamirpur seat ( Himachal Pradesh ) for the fifth consecutive time. Also, actors Kangana Ranaut and Rajiv Bharadwaj win their mark in Mandi and Kangra seat respectively. While the former state BJP president Suresh Kashyap wins Shimla seat.
BJP did not win in some states – Rajasthan, Nagaland, and Gujarat. However, despite a slight decline in Gujarat, the BJP still won a majority of the seats there.
