Aaftaf Ameen Poonawalla, a chef, cut his live-in partner Shraddha Walker into 35 pieces and dumped them in different locations in Delhi. The forensic team of the CBI went to Mehrauli forest along with the murderer to examine ten suspected human body parts collected from there earlier. If those pieces are of a human body, the officials will match them with the DNA of Shraddha’s father.

New Delhi: The murder of a 26-year-old woman, whose live-in partner cut her body into 35 pieces and thrown in different locations in the national capital, is getting murkier after the police detained a friend of the couple for questioning. The police, however, did not reveal anything about the questions they put up before him.

The probe into the brutal murder is still going on. The woman Shraddha Walker, a resident of Palghar in Maharashtra, befriended Aftab Ameen Poonawalla and began to stay together in New Delhi, despite opposition by the woman’s parents.

Nevertheless, when she was not responding the calls made by her father, he approached the police on November 8, and it was only after that the murder came to light.

Poonawalla cut Shraddha into 35 pieces and kept them in a refrigerator. He took 18 days to throw those pieces in different locations in Delhi.

The forensic team of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) went to Mehrauli police to examine ten suspected human body parts collected from the Mehrauli forest area. If those pieces are of a human body, the officials will match them with the DNA of Shraddha’s father, the police said.

A joint team of police and CBI officials took Poonawalla to Mehrauli forest area to recover the remains of Shraddha’s body. Immediately after Poonawalla’s arrest, the police collected ten suspected human body parts. The American crime show “Dexter” that tells the tale of a man with homicidal tendencies and lives a double inspired Poonawalla to commit the murder, the police said, adding that as the murderer was a trained chef, he is an expert in using a knife. The weapon used to commit the crime is yet to be recovered.
