A tragedy was witnessed in Bihar where people died after drinking poisonous alcohol. The government and the opposition were still in a hustle of whom to blame for the cause. On Saturday a plea was filed in the supreme court seeing a fresh investigation in the case. The death toll had risen to 60 in the state. The plea was filed for including a special investigation task team in the case.

According to the information received the bench declined the urgent process of the hearing and has stated that proper legal process will be followed in the probe. Further, the bench claimed that the supreme court will go on a two-week winter break and will resume on January 2.

The pleas were filed by the Aryavarta Mahasabha foundation, further, they have appealed to the state government to give sufficient compensation to the families of victims.

The death toll in the Hooch tragedy was 57 on Friday and it has been reported that several others are fighting to survive in the hospital.

According to the information received (SHO) Ritesh Mishra and Constable Vikesh Tiwari were suspended on Thursday for their negligence in the matter. The sale and consumption of alcohol were banned in Bihar in 2016.
