UP: 8 people died after drinking poisonous liquor in Aligarh

Aligarh: A case of death of 8 people has been reported due to drinking poisonous liquor in Uttar Pradesh. The incident is from Aligarh district. Three people are undergoing treatment in the hospital. The police, during preliminary investigation, found that the deceased had purchased liquor from a government authorized shop. Police is investigating the case. At the same time, the Excise Department will also investigate into this matter.

The police officer who reached the spot said that the police received information this morning that two people were found dead near the IOCL plant in Karasuwan village. When the police reached the spot immediately, it was found that they had died due to drinking alcohol. After that it was found in the village that three more people died there too. Investigation revealed that these people had purchased liquor from government contract shop. A total of 8 people have died so far.

A team has been formed under the leadership of SSP, which is investigating the case. Action is also being taken on the owner of the liquor store. Police is finding out from where the liquor was supplied to the shop owner. The liquor recovered from the dead and samples of liquor from the shop have been taken and sent to the lab for examination.
