Patna: Amid speculations over Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar becoming the opposition for the general elections of 2024, Kumar is likely to visit Delhi from September 5, sources close to the Janata Dal (United) (JD-U) leader said on Saturday. Kumar has, however, asserted that he would not be the opposition’s prime ministerial candidate in the next Lok Sabha elections. He is likely to meet Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Left leaders during his visit. At present, JD-U is holding a two-day national executive and national council on Saturday and Saturday. At the meeting, the party may authorise Kumar to hold talks with the opposition leaders and bring them one platform.

This will be Kumar’s first visit to Delhi after his snapping ties with the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
