The Delhi police crime branch has been active in the manhunt for drug peddlers. The police have successfully busted two inter-state drug dealers gangs and have successfully detained nine peddlers, said an official on Monday.

According to the official police statement around 550 grams of heroin and 106 kg of cannabis have been recovered from the possessions.

During the first operation, the anti-Narcotics Task Force held a series of operations across India, the police successfully busted a cartel that was supplying marijuana from Odisha to the capital. The information regarding the supply of marijuana was received from the surveillance and they acted upon it.

According to the information received the accused were identified as Mohd. Asif, Golu, Noor Salam, and Naseem Bano, were detained from Vikas Marg, near Noida Link Road. A total of 106.2 kg fine quality of marijuana was recovered from them.

In another operation, after ANTF launched an operation, especially to bloc the chain among the youngsters in west Delhi, one supplier and a receiver along with 550 grams of heroin were detained from Tilak Nagar.

The accused was identified as Gulzaar Khan, who is a resident of Behra in Uttar Pradesh, and Tushar, a resident of Matiyala, Delhi.

During interrogation, Gulzaar admitted that he procured the consignment from Bareilly which was later was later headed towards Delhi to Tushar.

According to the information received the entire family of Gulzar is involved in drug trafficking and his father is currently detained in Tihar jail.

The police further in its statement said that the efforts to clean the drug peddling will not stop and the process shall continue unless the culprits are sent behind the bars.
