An incident was reported in which a complaint was registered against a Malta-based couple for the conversion of a little girl who was abandoned and later adopted by the foreign couple.

According to the information received the baby was found abandoned in an earthen pot three years since. The right-wing activists have filed a complaint against the orphan asylum and the Malta coupled who had adopted the baby.

Anshu Kumar the activist had accused the staff assigned to the orphanage has changed the faith of the baby and had made an Adhaar card with a Christian identity.

Following this, the orphanage superintendent Primorse Edmond denied the allegations and stated that “The adoption was done under the relevance of the Central Adoption Resource Authority (CARA), 2015 and under the directions of the Delhi High Court.” Further, he also said that he does not have any direct role in it.

An orphanage staff further said that a local politician wanted to adopt the baby girl but he was unable to do so, following which he is doing the stuff that can delay the process. The staff also claimed that the girl’s name has not been changed rather it was only modified. The staff member further said the girl is not medically fit as she suffers from a seizure disorder.

The little girl was hospitalized three times this year as she suffered from a shortage of breath, a delay in adoption could even risk her life. According to the information received the police have registered a complaint against the couple but have ensured a fresh investigation into the matter.
