New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah today said that the government is determined to make all cooperatives more empowered.

Shri Shah said in a tweet message on Saturday, “Today Shri Dilip Sanghani ji, President of National Cooperative Federation of India and Shri BS Nakai ji, Chairman of Farmers Cooperative Society IFFCO, Managing Director Shri U S Awasthi ji and Chairman of Nafed India, Dr. Meet Bijendra Singh. Under the leadership of Modi ji, we are determined to further strengthen cooperatives and all cooperative institutions.

It is noteworthy that before the expansion and reorganization of the Modi cabinet, the government has formed a new ministry, the Ministry of Cooperatives and has given the responsibility to Mr. Shah. Mr. Shah has not yet taken over the charge of this ministry. This is the first time that a cooperative ministry has been created in the country.
