New Delhi: The Delhi police arrested three persons for manufacturing jeans and selling them with the tags of branded companies, official sources said on Wednesday. The trio has been identified as Sunil Jain, Jamshed Khan and Masood Ahmed.

The police also seized 3,530 jeans with the labels of branded companies. According to deputy commissioner of police (north-west Delhi) Usha Ragnani, when the cops received a tipoff that some people were manufacturing jeans and selling them with a tags of branded companies, like Levi’s and Superdry in violation of the Trademark Act and the Copyright Act, they raided the site and arrested three persons.

According to Ragnani, police team set up to inquire into the complaints in connection with the sale of jeans with the tags of branded companies collected information which they presented before the court.

After acquiring a search warrant from the court, the team raided three different locations in Shakurpur village Tuesday, she said, adding that 3, 530 jeans bearing the labels of branded companies were seized. Five machines used to make those jeans were also confiscated.
