Kerala health minister launches ‘Break the Chain’ cartoon campaign

Kerala’s Health Minister K K Shailaja inaugurated the Kerala Cartoon Academy’s ‘Break the Chain’ campaign recently.

The campaign’s slogan is SMS – full form of it is wash hands using soap or sanitizer, wear masks and follow social distancing.

Many renowned cartoonists took part in the event and painted cartoons on the walls to create awareness among the people about the campaign.

Minister Shailaja appreciated the academy’s novel initiative to curb the spread of coronavirus by creating awareness among the masses not only in Kerala but also in other major cities.

As new coronavirus cases are being reported in Kerala, the minister said that standard operating methods and quarantine methods should be followed strictly to survive the situation and co-operate with the government to fight against coronavirus.

In the first phase, 14 cities in 14 districts have been selected to conduct cartoon drawing contests and further 28 cities will be chosen in the next phase.
