It is believed that worshipping Maa Katyayani on Navratri can help get rid of all the negative effects of planets in one’s horoscope. To stop the misdeeds of Mahishasura, Maa Parvati took the form of Katyayani. Some believe that Maa Parvati took birth in the home of sage Katya and thus, she got the name Katyayani. Maa Katyayani can be seen riding a lion and also having a lotus stem and sword in her right hand. She is believed to be gifted with the lion by Goddess Gauri.
Maa Katyayani looks as bright as gold and she is regarded to be worshipped for girls who are unmarried. Also, girls who have problems in their marital lives and education must worship Maa Katyayani to get success and get a beautiful look.
