On my way to a grocery store, I overheard a conversation of a middle-aged woman who was sharing her story with another woman. This woman A was telling how she finds her sasural to be a worst place to live in. When woman B asked what made her say so, woman A said that her mother-in-law is no less than a television serial vamp who lives in her house to create misunderstandings between her and her husband.

Due to constant nagging and interference from her mother-in-law, woman A keeps arguing with her husband on a constant basis. This leads to violent actions by her husband who had even slapped her on two occasions. When woman B heard about the physical abuse, she asked woman A to immediately report to someone elderly in her family who can counsel her husband. However, woman A had a different take on this.
Why don’t we have serials based on education?
She said her brother had already threatened her husband of a police case if he doesn’t mend ways. Despite the fact that his sister is being tortured emotionally and physically at her matrimonial home, the brother left it with only dhamkis on the phone to his sister’s husband. Thinking that woman A has no financial support since she is less educated and won’t get a job too, she is harassed by her in-law’s family on asking for money and more work at the home.
This has led to a extreme negative situation in woman A’s home that she was sharing with woman B. Woman B after understanding the entire situation asked woman A to talk to her husband and ask him to stop fighting with her over money and other issues. Woman B said she knows some NGOs who work for women’s welfare and asked woman A to get a job so that the financial crunch gets reduced. Also, she encouraged woman A to fight for her rights to get a job, get a better life in a constructive way rather than feeling depressed about the entire situation.
