Today, Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut launched a scathing assault on the BJP and the central government over the alleged abuse of investigative agencies, alleging that money-based killings had been replaced by “government killings” to eliminate political opponents in Maharashtra.

He claims that frequent raids have turned into a new company that requires no financial investment. Central investigative agencies are acting as contract murderers for Delhi’s ruling party “Mr Raut said.
He added that using these organisations to eliminate unwanted political competitors seemed to have become a new policy. Mr Raut claimed Sameer Khan, the son-in-law of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader and state minister Nawab Malik, was detained by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on the pretence of his involvement in drug trafficking and sentenced to eight months in prison.

The Sena leader went on to say that the CBI was raiding the homes of former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh instead of looking for Param Bir Singh, the former Mumbai police commissioner who had accused Mr Deshmukh of corruption.
