Washington: The current US President Donald Trump has removed Defence Minister Mark Asper, who visited India nearly two weeks ago, and replaced him as the acting head of the Department of Defence, Christopher C. Miller, head of the National Counter-Defence Center. .
Mr. Espar was the second Secretary of Defence of the US President before James Mattis resigned over policy differences with the President regarding troops in Syria.
Giving this information, Mr. Trump said, “I am pleased to announce that Christopher C. Miller, the highly respected director of the National Counter Terrorism Center, has been unanimously appointed by the Senate as Acting Defence Minister, effective immediately.”
