In a thrilling match on April 22, Rajasthan Royals spinner Yuzvendra Chahal took his 200th IPL wicket becoming the first bowler to claim in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Chahal achieved this milestone by dismissing the all-rounder Mohammad Nabi.
Chahal, a 33-year-old leg-spinner, began the match with 199 wickets. 200 wickets has placed him ahead of the previous record holder, Dwayne Bravo, who retired with 183 wickets.
Before joining the Rajasthan Royals, Chahal played for the Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bengaluru. This landmark was reached in his 153rd IPL game.
Chahal has also been a key player for the Indian national team in white-ball cricket. Since his international debut in 2016, he has played 154 matches for India, taking 217 wickets.
