Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath while speaking to media on Saturday said that UP will “very soon” have five international airports, which will bring a paradigm shift in the state’s development and connectivity. He emphasized that Civil aviation has the potential to generate employment along with ensuring connectivity from UP to the rest of India and the world.
UP is set to usher in the new league when it comes to civil aviation after having two international airports in Lucknow and Varanasi, the state will soon have two new international airports in Kushinagar and Jewar; while a new one has also been proposed for Ayodhya too, said Yogi.

PM Narendra Modi is set to lay the foundation stone for the new Noida International Airport in Jewar soon, which will be one of the world’s largest airports according to the UP government release.
Yogi Adityanath efforts are fructifying and signing ceremony of the license of the memorandum between the UP Govt joint venture company Noida International Airport Limited (NIAL) and the SPV of developer Zurich Airport International AG along with Yamuna International Airport Pvt Ltd (YIAPL) — held on Saturday in the presence of the CM.
YIAPL is a newly incorporated subsidiary of Zurich Airport International to develop the Jewar international airport in UP.
“The location of the proposed Jewar airport was marred with controversies and disputes in previous regimes but we have acquired 1,336 hectares of land required for the first phase from farmers with their coordination and consent without any dispute,” Adityanath said.
He said that the aviation sector in the state has great potential for generating employment and ensuring economic prosperity.
CM Yogi said that “very soon, UP will have five international airports. The work on Kushinagar, international airport is almost complete and operation can start anytime after DGCI approvals for the international flights”.
He also reiterated that after the commercial operation of the Jewar airport, the industrial infrastructure in Uttar Pradesh will be enhanced and it will create more investment along with boosting the tourism potential of the state as well.
He said we have got all mandatory approvals like immigration services from the Ministry of Home Affairs, a NOC from the Ministry of Environment, now construction will start soon after PM will give time to lay the foundation stone for the airport in Aug.
