Lucknow: With just six months more for the important Uttar Pradesh 2022 assembly elections but the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) govt under Yogi Adityanath is leaving no stone unturned to showcase state’s development works to the public. Uttar Pradesh is all set to launch mega developmental projects in the state by the top senior leaders from PM Modi to Amit Shah visiting the state to launch various projects.
This comes after the party has reposed faith in Yogi Adityanath leadership ruling out all the buzz about internal scuffle. PM Modi in his recent visit to Varanasi has endorsed the leadership and work of UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath; now the party is all set to focus on the elections battle ahead.
BJP needs to counter the anti-incumbency challenge and offset the mis-management tag of Covid pandemic along with the anti-upper-caste narrative built in the state that Brahmins were ignored and discriminated in the Yogi’s regime.
BJP is gearing up its organisation for UP polls
BJP is fine tuning it’s election machinery by rejuvenating its cadre morale by scheduling the visits of senior party leaders, before the election kick starts in the state. BJP has to tackle the challenge posed by strong regional satraps like the Samajwadi Party (SP) and to some extent of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP).
BJP touted itself as an organisational party with around 11-member booth committees even in the villages of almost all the 75 districts of state. This organisational setup, since the 2014 general elections is bailing out BJP in UP. Party’s last-mile worker, known as ‘panna pramukh’ who holds charge for the few pages of voter list in his constituency is a key player. His energy and dedication can make or mar the end results in a fierce electoral battle.
Top BJP leaders visiting UP
Starting August, party’s top brass is frequently visiting UP. Three visit of PM Modi itself is lined up for August, while Home Minister Amit Shah arriving in Lucknow on August 1 to lay the foundation stone of the State Institute for Forensic Sciences.
Later in August, PM Modi will be visiting to inaugurate the Yogi’s dream project Poorvanchal expressway which is more than 90% complete (as per reports) along with the inauguration of few newly constructed medical colleges and foundation laying for the construction of the Jewar international airport in Noida.
BJP wants to showcase the party’s commitment towards development through these mega projects, which will help it build a better perception in the public and also it will help re-energize its cadre.
