Over a delay in having an order ready, a Swiggy delivery team member reportedly shot and killed the owner of an eatery in Greater Noida, near Delhi. The delivery agent is being tracked down using CCTV footage from the neighbourhood.
The man who was slain was the owner of a restaurant in the Mitra residential complex. The Swiggy representative arrived late Tuesday to pick up an order of chicken biryani and poori sabzi. While the biryani arrived on schedule, a worker informed the delivery agent that the other order would take a bit longer.

Following an altercation between the two, the delivery agent allegedly verbally insulted the restaurant staff. That’s when Sunil Agarwal, the restaurant’s owner, sought to intervene and put an end to the brawl. With the aid of a buddy, the delivery agent reportedly shot him in the head. He was transported to the hospital by the restaurant team member and other crew members, where he was pronounced dead.

“He was still alive when I arrived. I called for an ambulance after dialling 100. However, we subsequently drove him to the hospital in our vehicle “Rakesh Nagar, who lives next to the restaurant, agreed. “Because there was a delay in getting the order ready, the delivery guy killed the restaurant owner,” police inspector Vishal Pandey said, adding that three teams have been created to find the perpetrator.
