Swiggy, India’s leading online food delivery platform, announced today that it has collaborated with Reliance BP Mobility Limited (RBML) to foster eco-friendly vehicles. They aim to develop an electric car (EV) ecosystem as part of its ambitious ambition to transition to EVs and lower vehicle prices.
The cooperation will be used to promote the adoption of battery-operated electric vehicles (EVs), including the deployment of electric two-wheelers, which will be supported by Jio-network bp’s of battery swap stations and Swiggy’s network of delivery partners, on a trial basis. Swiggy has spent the previous two years piloting various models to see what would make EV adoption more accessible and more profitable for its delivery partners, according to the firm.
Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) and BP PLC, which is Britain’s largest oil company jointly collaborated to form Reliance BP Mobility. Swiggy will also teach delivery partners how to use electric vehicles, charging stations, and battery-monitoring applications, according to the firm.
RBML is establishing the country’s largest network of battery switching stations. Battery switching has become a perfect option for two and three-wheelers, especially those in the last-mile delivery market, with high-performance batteries resulting in improved on-road range and shifting requiring only a few minutes.
It will install battery-swapping stations for delivery partners around the country as part of its deal with RBML. A single pre-charged battery will allow you to commute for 65 to 80 kilometres. According to the firm, the battery switch will take less than 5 minutes, reducing wait time and more deliveries.

Swiggy will use electric bikes for last-mile deliveries to cooperate with Hero Lectro and Fast Despatch Logistics. According to the firm, it is currently being tested in Hyderabad, with plans to extend to other metros in the coming months.
Over the next five years, Jio-bp plans to build a distributed network of thousands of battery swap stations at its retail outlets, as well as at leading residential and commercial complexes, malls, hotels, business parks, IT hubs, and parking lots, to name a few potential urban locations across India. In the last mile delivery and passenger segments, battery switching is expected to lead the green wave.
