New Delhi: Members of various opposition parties led by Congress in Rajya Sabha created a ruckus on Tuesday demanding immediate discussion in the House on the issue of Farmers Protest on the borders of Delhi, due to which the meeting of the Upper House It was finally adjourned for a full day after a three-time adjournment. Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu told the members that they could speak a day later, in the discussion on the President’s address on Wednesday.
Earlier, at the commencement of Zero Hour, the Chairman said that to discuss the issue, he was asked by several members, including Leader of Opposition Ghulam Nabi Azad, Trinamool Congress’s Sukhendu Shekhar Rai, DMK’s Tiruchi Siva, Left Member E. Karim and Vinay Vishwam to discuss the issue. Notices have been received.
Under this rule, the important issues of the House are postponed and the necessary issues are discussed. The Chairman said that the members on the issue of farmers can present their views during the discussion on the President’s address tomorrow. He asked the members to speak briefly. Apart from Sukhendu Shekhar Rai, Karim, Vinay Vishwam, Shiva, Manoj Jha of RJD, Satish Chandra Mishra of BSP, Ram Gopal Yadav of SP, etc., referred to the farmers’ movement and demanded a discussion on it. While giving the system during the Zero Hour, the Chairman said that this issue can be raised during the discussion on the President’s address tomorrow. Members of some opposition parties walked out of the House expressing their displeasure. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Prahlad Joshi said that the members themselves had demanded the question hour.
