Saifai (Uttar Pradesh): 70 Corona positive patients wandered on the road for three hours outside the Saifai Medical University Hospital in Etawah district of UP. These patients were sent by bus and ambulance from Agra to Etawah. After reaching here, the patients noticed that the main gate of the hospital was not open due to which the patients kept walking on the road. This is considered to be the biggest negligence of the UP government.
The local people informed the police station in-charge and Circle Officer. After this, Circle Officer Chandra Pal Singh told the Vice Chancellor of the University, Dr. Rajkumar. The Vice Chancellor then opened the main gate of the hospital and the patients were admitted to the Corona Virus Wing built inside the hospital. Vice Chancellor Rajkumar said that this incident is the result of communication gap of Agra administration. “We are verifying reports of their movement on the road and necessary steps will be taken,” he said.
Police said water and biscuits were provided to the patients. All these patients reached the Saifai Medical University Hospital from Agra at four o’clock in the morning by bus and ambulance. Due to the closure of the main gate of the hospital, all the patients kept walking on the roads in front of and around the main gate till 7 am.
During the last 24 hours, 172 new cases have been reported in UP and two people have died. With this the number of infected patients has increased to 1,793 and 27 people have lost their lives. Agra remains the hotspot of UP and has the highest number of 346 positive cases, while the number of patients in Lucknow has increased to 176. There are 112 patients in Gautam Buddha Nagar while the number of patients in Ghaziabad has reached 52.
