First List of Candidates are Released by Congress and 40% seats are for Women- Priyanka Gandhi Vadra

Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra released the first list of candidates for Uttar Pradesh’s polls. She addressed a press conference and declared the name of 125 candidates from the party. 

In the conference, she stated that the party is known for historic initiatives and this time they are also going to bring new kinds of politics. She announced, out of 125 candidates, 40% seats are reserved for women and for the country’s youth.

In the first list of UP election polls, 125 candidates’ names were released in which 50 are women. Unnao rape victim’s mother, Asha Singh, asha worker, Poonam Pandey and many more women candidate names are included in this list. 

Priyanka also stated that, “Our candidate list sends a new message. We want to inform individuals who have fought for their rights and sought justice in the past that they have the power to fight for their rights, and that the Congress party will give them that authority so that they may be a part of the state’s power.”

Vadra also targeted Yogi’s government in Uttar Pradesh and addressed them as a dictatorial government. She added, the government lost the central idea of development, women’s safety and people’s issues in Uttar Pradesh.

Meanwhile, she didn’t answer the question of, is she fighting in UP elections or not. Uttar Pradesh assembly elections will go on seven phases that will start from 10 February.
