Bollywood actress Parineeti Chopra has had a mixed year in terms of her movies making a mark at the box office. Her film Code Name Tiranga opposite Harrdy Sandhu was a huge disaster at the box office but her other movie ‘Uunchai’ was one of those films of 2022 that got critical acclaim to become a slow hit at the box office. Now the actress is keen to explore a film in the South Indian film industry.
In an event held recently by Aaj Tak, Parineeti Chopra shared how she is eagerly wanting to be cast in a South Indian film. She said that no one can imagine her desire to work in a South film. She has been looking for a good film in another language for the longest time. If it is Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, or Malayalam, she simply wants to be a part of the film. She just wants a good film to be written well and directed well because she thinks people working in the South Indian film industry make fantastic films and superb cinema. She added, “The kind of films we all like to watch and we like to celebrate on screen so Ek baar toh mujhe life mein karna hai. If someone knows any great director, please consider me.”
This is not the first time that Parineeti has spoken about her wanting to work in regional films. Even in 2019, she told a media outlet how she doesn’t care about the language and loves acting so much that she wants to work in regional movies. She would love to even work in Marathi cinema because they are quite advanced and show people who have forward thinking. She also considers Marathi cinema to be a quality time but as she can’t speak Marathi, she doesn’t mind learning the language and working hard for it. She also said how so many Hindi films are inspired by Marathi films, so she will consider it an honor to work in Marathi cinema.
On the work front, Parineeti Chopra is going to have Capsule Gill released in 2023 which features Akshay Kumar in the main lead role. She would be working with the Khiladi actor for the second time after Kesari. She is also reported to have actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh’s movie titled Chamkila. Directed by Imtiaz Ali, the biographical film Chamkila talks about the story of the late famous Punjabi singers-couple Amarjot Kaur and Amar Singh Chamkila. Parineeti will be playing the part of Amarjot in the film while Chamkila will be performed by Diljit. For the unaware, Amar Singh Chamkila and his wife Amarjot Kaur were assassinated on March 8, 1988, along with the members of their musical band.
Cousin sister of Priyanka Chopra, Parineeti made a mark in Bollywood after working in the marketing team of a production company. She has completed 11 years in Hindi cinema. She wrote recently on Twitter, “What a ride! Thankyou all for these 11 years .. time to share – so much exciting stuff coming now .. #Grateful”.
