Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be meeting the higher officials of Japan in India soon. Before the meeting, former Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga on Thursday said that he plans to pitch to companies from his country to improve the Indian business environment in the meeting. Suga has a meeting with Modi today with his delegates. He came to India with a team of over 100 business delegates on Tuesday. He said that he will convey to Modi the request he has received from the business leaders who will be attending the meeting to improve the business environment for Japanese companies to work in India.

At an industry event, Suga said that he will surely empower the private sector of Japan to invest in India. He would ask Indian PM Modi to improve the business environment for Japanese companies in India. He also said that Japan is in full alignment with the public and private industries that want to maintain strong relations with India. Last year, the government of Japan kept an aim of 5 trillion yen in public and private investment and loans to India over the coming five years to strengthen economic relations.

Modi had earlier visited the city of Japan called Hiroshima in May 2023 for 3 days for attending the G7 Summit. There Modi only spoke at G7 sessions with partner nations on subjects like prosperity, peace, and stability but also on topics like food, fertilizers, and energy security. So, it will be interesting to gain insights on how both the nation’s leaders work towards strengthening the international business environment and promoting the companies of both countries towards growth and development.

In other news, Modi is set to visit four states of India on 7 and 8 July 2023. On 7 July, Modi will be visiting Uttar Pradesh and Chhattisgarh whereas on 8 July, he will be visiting Rajasthan and Telangana. In Raipur, Chhattisgarh, Modi will be laying the foundation stone for different development projects worth approximately Rs 6,400 crores. This involves the inauguration of five National Highways projects that aims to enhance connectivity and improve tourism in the region.

He will also be setting up the foundation stone for three National Highway projects for the Chhattisgarh section of the 6-lane Greenfield Raipur – Visakhapatnam corridor. During his stay in Uttar Pradesh, Modi will also disburse the loans of PMSVANidhi, keys of PMAY Rural houses, and Ayushmar cards to the respective people. 

All these visits to different states are the motive to support socio-economic growth and improve infrastructure development projects.

From the time, Modi took the position of Prime Minister of India, he has been always in the news for meeting with top leaders of not just India but also foreign lands. He has not restricted himself to meeting the officials of the government but also of the corporate sector. For example, his visit with Amazon and Google’s respective CEOs last month made quite a noise in the Indian business ecosystem.
