Ola Electric, India’s leading electric scooter manufacturer, has announced a significant price reduction on its most affordable e-scooter model. The price of the S1X’s base variant has been cut by 12.5%, dropping from ₹79,999 to ₹69,999.
Ola Electric, a company backed by the influential SoftBank Group, launched the S1X scooter range in August last year.
The price reduction varies across different variants of the S1X model, with cuts ranging from 5.6% to 9.1%.
In fiscal year 2024, Ola Electric sold 326,443 e-scooters, slightly exceeding its revised target of 300,000 units.
Comparatively, even with the price cut, Ola’s cheapest scooter remains more affordable than the lower-priced variants of competitors such as TVS Motor and Ather (backed by Hero MotoCorp), which are priced above ₹100,000.
However, it is still more expensive than Honda’s Activa, priced between ₹78,000 and ₹82,000.
